About the Role:

The successful candidate will be passionate about English literature and language, and committed to delivering high-quality education to students aged 11-16 (Key Stages 3 and 4). This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is looking to inspire and engage students while contributing to their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Plan and deliver engaging lessons in English Language and Literature, tailored to meet the needs of students across various ability levels.
(2) Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to foster a love for English and enhance students' reading, writing, and analytical skills.
(3) Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
(4) Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring a thorough understanding of the curriculum and assessment criteria.
(5) Contribute to the development of the English department, including participation in curriculum planning, resource creation, and extracurricular activities.
(6) Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, discipline, and a culture of high achievement.
(7) Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and colleagues to support student learning and wellbeing.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:
(a) A degree in English or a related subject.
(b) Proven experience teaching English at the secondary school level, with a strong track record of student achievement.
(c) Excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum for English and the GCSE specifications.
(d) Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
